Llanvaches, Llanfaches in Welsh, is located about midway between the market town of Chepstow and the city of Newport. The village lies just north of the A48 road and below Wentwood, with both Newport centre and Chepstow about 7 miles distant.
The Local Government and Elections (Wales) Act 2021, Section 52, requires community councils, as soon as reasonably practicable after the end of each financial year, to prepare and publish an annual report about the council’s priorities, activities and achievements over the previous year. The Environment (Wales) Act 2016 Section 6 places a biodiversity and resilience of ecosystems duty on all public bodies - including town and community councils. This requires the Community Council to: Maintain and enhance biodiversity, promote the resilience of ecosystems and integrate biodiversity considerations into all activities.
